YIHE42 founder and Senior teacher
Cherry is the founder of YIHE 42 yoga, she has over 20 years teaching experience. She graduated from Bikram Yoga College of India in 2004. She has also registered E-RYT training instructor of Yoga Alliance; Xiangyi is the lululemon Ambassador of beijing China; "allbirds" brand ambassador Friend of Manduka brand; Xiangyi has trained many excellent yoga teachers to teach all over the country and even the world. She has continuously studied yoga knowledge and practice for many years, and has shared the quality courses combining the theory and practice of yoga with all students.
Yoga & Pilates Instructor
Sophie began her yoga practice several years ago, while studying at UBC. She decided to try yoga in hopes to heal old sport injuries and symptoms of stress. She soon realized yoga is so much more than “stretching.” It is a spiritual practice that connects the body and mind. Now, a passionate 300RYT, with over 3 years teaching experience, Sophie enjoys guiding her students through a practice that matches breath with movement, to increase internal awareness of the body and emotions. Her sequences consider the nervous system, with a healthy balance of stimulating and grounding poses. Sophie is passionate about helping others reconnect with themselves and feel at home again in their body. Sophie has completed additional training in Trauma Informed Yoga, Mat Pilates, Fascial Release, and Somatic Attachment Therapy. She incorporates trauma informed principles into her teachings to create a safe space for all students. Sophie also has experience working as a Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician with the Fraser Health Authority.
Yoga Instructor
Mikki Kinnaird is a sought after 400 hour RYT and Indigenous Healer. After practicing yoga for 15 years and fully immersing herself in her wellness journey Mikki began teaching yoga and meditation in hope of sharing her gift’s with her community. Mikki loves to connect mind and body through breath and movement. Always advocating for Health and Wellness Mikki believes that all classes can be made accessible for all fitness levels. Asteria is a passionate yoga instructor specializing in Bikram hot yoga. She began practicing at 18, and her journey led her to become a certified teacher in 2024. With extensive experience leading group classes, she creates a supportive and disciplined environment for practitioners of all levels. Asteria is dedicated to helping others discover strength, balance, and inner peace through the transformative power of yoga.
Reformer Instructor
Meet Shan Shan, our Reformer Pilates Teacher! Shan Shan specializes in semi-private and private sessions using the Reformer machine. Her sessions offer the ultimate, personalized fitness experience for students of all levels. Reformer Pilates has many benefits, including improved flexibility, balance, and strength. It can also help with injury prevention, posture, and stress reduction.

With 16 years of dedicated practice and teaching, Monica is a seasoned yoga instructor passionate about helping individuals cultivate strength, balance, and mindfulness. She has worked with a diverse range of students, from beginners to advanced practitioners, offering classes tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual. Throughout the years, Monica has explored various yoga styles, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Restorative yoga, aerial and yoga for cancer recovery incorporating these influences into a holistic and well-rounded approach to teaching. She believes in the transformative power of yoga to foster personal growth, reduce stress, and increase physical and mental well-being. Monica focuses on creating a supportive and inclusive environment. With a strong foundation in anatomy and alignment while emphasizing safe and mindful movement, ensuring each practice is both challenging and accessible while guiding students on their yoga journey, helping them build deeper awareness and connection with their breath, body, and inner peace.
Yoga Instructor
From Bikram to Bhakti, Leslie appreciates the vast universe of all things Yoga! Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Leslie completed university at Acadia before joining the RCMP as a constable. After about 6 years in her career and with a lot of skepticism, she reluctantly sought out yoga as it was a recommended way to manage post-traumatic stress. Finding yoga very effective and feeling called to share it with others, she left the policing world behind in 2008 and has been a full-time instructor ever since. In addition to the 26+2, Leslie has trained in teaching Vinyasa, Hatha, and Yin. She has travelled to India 7 times so far, at times residing for 6 month stays as an aspiring observer of spiritual culture. Join Leslie for a powerful, meditative, yet fun practice at YIHE!
